17x9 wheels/tires versus factory wheels/tires

i recently bought a set of the pro comp 7036 (i think) 17x9's and ive been running them since april and the tires are wearing badly on the inside but when i was running my factory wheels and tires they wore fine...I aslo noticed it when i had my 16x8 wheels and tires but not as bad as it is now then i went back to my factory rims for about a year before i got these 17's and they wore great....when you go with a wider wheel do you have to have the tow fixed on it or any kind of alignment work?

It's always recommended to get a alignment when you get new wheels but some people don't and something maybe off balance with the wheels maybe tires cause it wouldn't just accelerate the wear faster then the stock.

I alaways get an alignment done when I put new tires on. In your case your changing rim height and tire size I think thats your problem.
