I will pay the price for the OEM fuel filter at the dealership. Saving just a couple of bucks at the expense of my truck doesn't make sense.

So, looks like some others are using the Wix which is a reputable brand. I can't imagine the OEM version being so much better, if any, to justify twice the price. The OEM is prolly manufactured by Wix or some other brand anyway. This talk about using good fuel is bogus as it's almost impossible to verify that there is no contaminants or water in the fuel no matter what brand you go for. I do go to the name brands without fail but this again is no assurance of top quality fuel. To me, it makes sense to change the filter, whichever brand used, at regular intervals whatever that interval may be and not just leave the thing up there for a lifetime.

I agree there isn't any way to know if contaminants or water is in the fuel, even name brand fuels and an amen on changing filters regularly. I don't see any filter as a "lifetime" filter.

I went with the Wix at $23 Gonna run a can of seafoam through the gas tank and then swap out the filter.

You've already got a filter, but just a matter of interest.

Of course you do have to pay shipping so you'd need to probably order other items you wanted at the same moment to spread the cost, but 1stToyotaParts shows your factory filter at $27. Future reference maybe if you wanted a factory one if you replace again.

Yeah, the shipping is what would kill me on that one, I think it would be another $11 Thanks for the heads up though.
