    How strong are these tailgates? Have a 2011 6 ft bed and want to put a Polaris 335 Sportsmen in the bed. Don't have an owners manuel.

    I've seen people put quads and the rear tires are on the tail but a poloris is a different story

    Good idea might be to put a piece of ply wood on the bed and tail gate to make it some what stronger

    I'm not an engineer but that might be something to think about. My wheel base might not work after I checked. The front tires are 44 1/2 in and the bed is 43 at the wheel wells.

    well first up you are in the wrong section :D
    but now saying that, the tailgate is weak. we had one dirtbike on ours and a big bump put a kink in the end of the gate. i ended up sleeving a piece of metal over the lip to give it more strength.

    Opps got the 1st and 2nd gen thing mixed up. Oh well same thing fundamentally. Looks good whipperrsnap. Still a lttle paranoid though.
