I have a 2000 tacoma PreRunner SR5:D, it came with a 60/40 bench seat. i Was wondering if it was possible to replace this seat with bucket seats and a console, and any idea where to get buckets and a console?

ok cool there is actually a junkyard not to far from here that you pay to go in and get what you need and then pay for whatever items you get i may try that and see if i can find some, will i have to have new slide mounts for the floor?

Hmm I didnt think of that since the passenger seat is already a bucket i could just put a bucket in the driver side and place the console right?

There's always the other option of aftermarket seats too... Recaro and such

I'm talking about the stock 01-04 cup holder/center console.

Trust me, the 98-00 cup holders are the worst engineering design in the history of mankind.

    Here's an 01-04 assembly in my 98-00

I often wish that I could swap out the buckets in my Double Cab for the bench! I had a '94 HILUX SC back in the day with a bench; guess I still miss it! Best of luck man!

I want to know what they were smoking when they designed the 98-00 SQUARE cupholders.
I'd also like to find the man that approved the design and kick him in the balls.

I understand the reason for wanting the bucket seats because my 2010 reg cab 4x4 has the bench and it is horrible. But is there a better way?? even if you do get the exact same year tacoma buckets they still need modification to the seat belts, rail mounts, and wiring. also, if you have air-bags goodluck keeping them in working order and that light in your dash from coming on. So.. what if we were to get our benches reupholstered and in doing so added foam in all the right places... lumbar, shoulders and so on. What yall think???
