If you want 3" get OME 883s and nitro charger shocks or eibach coils and blistein 5100s up front

Out bad get allpro or Dakar leafs. Or the wheelers 5 pack + their AAL.

I'd stay away from rancho. What my truck had on it when I bought it. Sucked.

Rear shocks I'd go nitro chargers or extended 5125s depending on how much lift you end up with

yeah but i baby the crap out of my truck. Id probably punch myself if i ever broke it lol. Idk ive kindof been into maybe some desert stuff but muddin and such isnt really my style. I mainly want the lift to make it look good and so i can eventually put some Nitto Trail Graps on it hopefully some big ones :)

You guys are crazy. Great scenery though, maybe one day :) Whould you guys recommend the Blistein kit or the Old Man Emu kit more? I know the Old Man Emu company/parts are favored a little more on the forums but are they better than the Blistein one from Toytec? Maybe a Pro and Con list of the two?

    ToyTec also will assemble them.
The main drawback of the 5100s is you preload the springs to gain lift.
OME shocks & springs were designed & tested to go together & work well on our Tacos.

So in all truthfulness the Old Man Emu kit would be best as its specifically picked to work/fit on 1st gen Tacoma. But if I want to be able to adjust/preload the Blistein set would be better? How far can you preload the Blistein shocks to?

What about ride quality / bump hits, which is smoother/ more comfy to ride on if that makes sense?

The OME lift is straight longer strut and coil + larger stack of leafs for the back right? So theres no preloading / adjusting on the OME its only the strut, coil, and leaf pack straight up. Im not sure that makes sense but i hope it does

The OME kit will be a nicer over all ride and lower lift which will save your cv boots.

The eibach a and 5100s are a bit stiff due to a high spring rate and different valving but the eibach a also hold weight much better if your planning on a plate bumper.

How do the OME shocks give lift then?

Shock don't ever provide lift. The mounting plate on the 5100 gives lift technically. Coils give lift..always

Ok. Yes I understand that. The way i said that was misleading. If the OME shocks/ coils dont provide lift by preload, then how do they lift the truck? Also, I thought with the eibach coils on 5100s it reduced preload but still gave 3 inches of lift?

Mmk so doing a little configuring between the two different kits. the Toytec one with the Bilstein shocks and the OME.

Wanted to list out the config to make sure im looking at what i need to be.

    OME Kit: $1,292.99------------------------------------------------------
    Front coil options: 881_coils
Front top plate spacers: Add for full 3 inch front lift w/ 881 (+ $59.00)
Rear lift options: OME complete rear springs (98-04 Tacoma only) (+ $399.00)
    Front diff drop kit: Included_(4x4_only)
Front shock Assembly: Assembled with new top plates (+ $100.00)
ADD rear shock stone guards (Pair): NO

Ultimate With Bilstein Shocks: $1,408.99------------------------------ Front coils - Choose one: Med_600_LB_coils
Rear options - Choose one: New OME Dakar Complete Springs (98-04 Tacoma Only) (+ $399.00)
    Diff drop kit: With_diff_drop_kit_(4x4)
    Front coil options: Red_(standard)
    Rear shock options: Bilstein_5100_extended_length
    Other options: NONE
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think i made sure i got the Leaf Pack not the AAL. Im still unsure about the Front coils, the Diff drop kit and the Stone guards. Should I go ahead and have them assemble the Front shocks for easier install? Is it worth +$100 extra?

Also i noticed the OME does not have a replacement rear shock so would I still need to get those too?

OME does have rear shocks. Wheelers will be a better place to get OME stuff.

Only thing you need to add is an extended rear brake line.

If you can have the coils assembled locally for cheaper then do that.

Also I'd still opt for the 883s over the 881s and the spacer.

If you have add the rock guards might not be worth it..not sure.

Good call on new leafs tho

Does Wheelers have a full kit like the one from Toytec? I looked on their site but havent been able to find the list of components in the kit. I can see how much it is but it doesnt list the parts.

Rear brake line - would i need to have a new one if its only lifting 2"? Shouldnt the line have some slack in it?

I will probably go ahead and have them assembled to avoid hassle and that way can get it done quicker.

Why would you say the 883's rather than the 881s? When im in the configuration I cant select the 883's

The rock guards are only +$26.00, i mean its kindof stupid not to get them unless they dont work or un-needed imo. $26 doesnt add that much more. Not sure what they would do if i dont do much offroad

I have to get the new leaf pack because my are flat, almost rainbow shaped as of right now. Im weary to have the re-arced as they went flat in the first place with softer metal and itd be easier to just replace with new imo.

    Thoughts?
You guys can tell me im dumb lol. Just trying to get a general consensus so I can get the best for my truck
