5w-30 vs. 0w-30

I got an oil change last week and just noticed the windshield sticker they put on says they used 0-30 rather than the usual 5-30 I've been using. Is this going to be a problem? I would assume it'd actually be better in the winter but I've never run it before. If you think it's an issue I'm going to head back there and have them change it for me because I told them to use 5w-30. It's mobile1 btw.

 

i wouldn't worry about it, like you said in winter its better for oil to be a little less viscous when cold, and when it heats up your at 30 anyways so no biggie.

 

It probably not a problem, but shit like that bothers me, so I would change it. I'm weird about things like that. That's why I change my own oil.

 

Yeah that's what I was thinking, just wanted to be sure. And yeah, I would change my oil but I hate dealing with the mess honestly

It's fine.
We have 0w20 available here, haven't seen 0w30, but it could be a regional thing.

It's still a 30wt oil when it's up to temperature, but it'll provide better protection on cold startups. Personally, I'd be running 0w20 if I were you and had a 2nd Gen.

At dodge&jeep where i work 0w20&0w-30 we only have synthetic in the city actually im in SA,TX we use those oil weights only in srt vehicles such as the challenger an charger its a high performance oil
