    thats exactly what i had to do .

    and dont worry i know how to compress a spring. my kit had a top plate spacer.

    Good, I'm glad it worked out for you. Please don't take offense for our concern, you would be surprised just how many people try to compress a coil spring without the correct tools. I put in a set on a Mustang with a tire iron when I was younger and much stupider.
    Put up some pictures of the truck with the lift, I'd love to see it.

    i don't know how old this thread is but does anyone know if you need new front shocks woth this kit, i know it comes with rear, but i did't know about the front, thanks

    hahaha the ancient thread bumper strikes again!!!

    i have no idea to answer your question. i believe that the kit for the front is made to just use the stock shocks in the front with the spacers over them. I had a 2" rough country lift when i bought the truck and it used the stock shocks (which were totally shot!). Sooooo glad i switched to OME.

    If it is a spacer kit, it uses the shocks you already have for the front.

    ok, see what is throwing me off is i talked to the jc whitney product specilist (thats where i got the kit) and she said that i do need front shocks, but earlier i had asked if this kit includes everything i need to lift my truck and another guy said it did. i don't wanna buy new shocks but i will if i have to, and i think mabye jcw wants me to buy more of there products
