im stuck trying to install my lift

    2002 tacoma prerunner, 2.5 rough country lift.
    ive put the spacer on top of the struts. but i cant compress the shock enough to get the bolt back in. i tried the upsidedown jack trick but my jack brokE!
    it said it was only suppose to take 3 hours for the whole truck and im at 3 hours without even finishing my first wheel.

    help me please!
    the instructions say to seperate the upper ball joint and the spindle. where is this? and what is it?
    how do i do it?

    seriously


    it sounds like youre trying to compress the spring back onto the strut with the spacer on top of the spring

    if this is the case

    DO NOT ATTEMPT FURTHER

    take it to a mechanic and have them compress the spring strut and spacer together for you

    compressing the spring by yourself is incredibly dangerous and can kill you

    im hoping im wrong...and in the event i am...the only thing i can think of is he cant get the bottom bolt in the mounting eye of the strut

    if thats the case...the only helpful thing i could have told you is use the upside down bottle jack trick

    if that doesnt work youre going to need a friend...

    i did mine myself but it took a rubber mallet, an impact gun, the bottle jack AND me trying to stand on the rotor to push the control arm down enough to get it in...NOT FUN

    In the event that you are installing a top mount spacer. On my 2003, I had to unbolt my sway bar at the lower control arm. then I got a pry bar to push down on the arm and slipped the bottom of the shock in to place. Then you just use your floor jack under the lower control arm to get the sway bar back in place. 1st side took be an hour to figure it out the 2nd took about 15 minutes.

    Please be careful and make sure it's on a good set of jack stands.

    Seriously. I think everyone has been in the middle of a project that hasn't gone well. I just hope he's careful

    haha sorry guys i forgot i even posted.
    i got it all done : ] i just had trouble removing the ball joint from the UCA.
    i was just confused on the instructions rough country gave me. i found a tutorial on another forum site right after i posted here.

    i finished the job at about 530. only 6.5 hours of work haha
    its looks good

    sorry for leavin ya hangin!

    i knew what i was doing but iwas just confused about the instructions and process
