MY98 - 33" BFG ATs, Bilstein 5100 shocks & struts, Firestone rear air-bag kit, Hawk LTS pads, Brembo rotors, 350k+ miles, frame patched together with snot, wood chips and man glitter. MY14 Forester - Who really cares. It runs, has an amazing audio system, but the engine is basically a 2-stroke.
I'm contemplating picking up a CB radio to satisfy my inner redneck. I picked out the radio I want, I know where I want to mount it, and I even planned out a whole new wiring setup for my accessories with a fuse block under the hood and a fuse and relay box under the drivers seat. I just for the life of me can't decide what kind of antenna to get or where to put the damn thing.

I have a Leer cap, so that limits my options greatly. I don't want to look like I'm driving an Tamiya RC truck or that I'm borrowing my grand-dad's old antenna. I searched the forums for a variety of key phrases to see what other people have done with their CB antennas when they have a bed cap, but I haven't had much luck.

Should I put a mount on the side of my rear bumper? Squeeze one between the rear window and the cap? Is there a decent looking option for the roof of the cab or the cap?

    Thanks!

you could try a hood mount. My CB is mounted on my front bumper and my 2/70 antenna is mounted next to my hood but you get the idea.

JLee makes an awesome bracket for between the bedside and tailgate.

I thought about the front bumper but I think I'd find that to be incredibly distracting. Thank you though. :D

Are these available via PM only? I looked through his threads and didn't see the bracket. I found an awesome set of sliders though.

Would the OEM radio antenna cause interference if I used the passenger side mount? So far this looks like a good option.

I think only PM as he hasn't put them up on his vendor page. I'll look.

And I just installed a set of those sliders :D

In that post of his it clearly says those Relentless brackets are for 05+

Awesome, thanks guys. Jlee's bracket is exactly what I was looking for. I'll shoot him a PM once I place my order for everything else. :D

Couldn't really tell, either that or I missed it in the OP. Would a magnetic mount not work for you? I have one and it does the job pretty well. Easy to take off too and it's supposed to be the best place to mount an antenna for signal as well

EDIT: beat me to it! ^^

Why not just buy a hood mount and mount it there? That's why I did and it works great!

I don't see how it could, it's a receiving antenna.

I have a non-groundplane firestik that I mounted on a medium duty spring to the top of my bed cap/camper shell. It's about 24"-27" tall.
