Anyone get a weird noise from time to time coming from behind the glove box? It almost sounds like something moving. Its happened to me twice now. I shut the truck off and wait a minute then restart. I am assuming it has something to do with the ac. Any thoughts?

    Is it a squealing/chirping noise?

If so it's your fan blower.

I've got a strange clicking behind mine at times. Sounds kind of like a cable slapping the ductwork. I've had the glovebox out and the heater blower tube out twice now. Can't find it. Odd thing is mine does it randomly like the road surface doesn't matter, moreso when it's cold. The last 45 minutes or so of my commute it's silent.

    Could be the "airbag rattle"

Here's a good thread on it, particularly post #8: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-tacomas/126057-dash-rattle.html

I have my glove box off and am about to go up and in there to pad some stuff with extra adhesive foam I have. I would randomly get that rattle, especially when cold and accelerating, so I figured while everything is off might as well do it.

I don't have a passenger airbag in mine. I believe that started in 98. I'm pretty sure mine is related to the blower motor. Last night I noticed it would stop if I put the blower on high. And it barely does it at all with the blower off unless I'm going fairly fast and it's windy. Played with it a bit more this morning on the way to work and it stopped every time I put the blower on high.

I've said it before, my blower motor sounds like a rodent orgy.

But mine is speed sensitive, not fan blower speed, but vehicle. You can hear it wind up and down with the speed of the truck. Took the glove box out to look around and dropped the blower out too, with no clear answer. I noticed the foam around either end of the blower duct and that didn't look collapsed or anything and the blower was clean and quiet when I took it out and tested it, spun some lint out but not much.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks.
