I'm looking to increase the comfort of my ride to work. I spend several hours a day sitting in these 1st Gen torture contraptions we call seats. I have seen lots of 2nd Gen trucks on here with Wet Okole seat covers but not many 1st Gens. Do they honestly increase the comfort as much as people say? I like the options of adding heat and lumbar support.

    Thanks

When I first saw the price I thought it was crazy to spend that much for something to sit on. I broke down for the group buy and definitely liked the look. Next to the Weather Tech Digi Liners this is probably my most functional mod. They are very comfortable, protect my seats when I'm wet, and look very sharp. No heat since we are in Texas, but did get the pockets in the rear. I would have got these for my 2000 if I had known about them.

The wet okole seat covers will make the seats more comfortable, but the covers will also make you sweat a lot during the summer (but feels nice in the winter) because neoprene does not breathe well.

    Stock for now
I've had a set in all my trucks & like them a lot.
My last set in the tacoma were on for 5 yrs.
When I took them off the seats looked brand new.
They took lots of abuse & saved many coffee spills, my dogs nails etc.
The padding made the seats more comfortable imo.
I didn't add any heat though & live in VT.
The only thing was the tan centers turned a green tint in places due to uv rays.
Now have a full black set in the tundra.

They turn down if no one is in the back so you can see better. LOL.

Yes on the comfort and no more of a buttsweat problem than any other cover that actually protects the seats & no worse than factory leather is about buttsweat in hot climates for that matter. Yes, they are worth it. Mine have been in 2 different trucks over the last few years daily driven and are good as new.

Thanks for the info. I didnt know that. Ive removed my rear headrests on both of the tacomas ive owned bc they block out the entire rear window!

I think you will find WO covers a little more comfortable overall. They wiill certainly fit well and look good too. Worth it IMO.

Exactly how I felt. Now that they are purchased and installed, I wouldn't take the money back. They really are that nice.

They would look black. In all seriousness though you might want to just consider a seat swap instead of covers. Someday when I have some spare cash I want to find a set of 3rd gen 4Runner sport seats. Granted I'll have to do some fab work to mount them on tacoma seat rails but I think it will be worth it. My 60/40 isn't very comfortable at all. I didn't mind the same seat when I bought my 98 new but I'm a bit older now and this seat sucks. A friend of mine had one of the cloth seatcovers performance products used to sell a while back and it made the seat more comfortable but it still does absolutely nothing for support.

This is my concern. I had decided to get some WO's until I read comments from someone else about them fading from the sun. Where I live we get well over 300 days of sun per year and I won't tint my front windows. Has anyone else had fading issues with these?

Wouldn't it be cheaper if you bought it locally? And if you buy them direct from the shop, they install it for free.
