Roof Racks for 04' Double Cab

I am sure this has been brought up in some other forums that I cant find but, I cant find them.
I have been looking at getting a roof rack for some time for my 04' Tacoma Double Cab but being on a limited budget right now I cant afford to do just anything. The roof of my taco is currently "naked" so I dont know where to start besides paying someone to install cookie cutter $300 PerryCraft runners. I am not set up to use a welder, though I could use a family members if I thought the setup was worth it.
My question here is what has everyone else done to their tacomas (particularly 1st gen), how much did it cost, and what would you have done better? Also any suggestions are awesome!!

The weight limit needs to be over 140lbs to accommodate 2 kayaks, also having the ability to store gear up there would be handy also.
Thank you guys for your help and I look forward to hearing from you all!!

Still Searching

Well thanks guys for the info and pictures!! After reading on the forum more and searching around I have decided to go with a PerryCraft Sportquest 5550-B bars. Trying to get ahold of Avid Offroad to see if they could build a custom basket to sit down between the bars. If this is what I go with I will be sure to post pics, hopefully after Christmas!

Just got my Perrycraft Sportquest installed today. It had the highest weight rating that I could find. 180lbs should be able to hold my two kayaks. Next part will hopefully be getting a drop in basket to sit between the two bars.

Looks nice. I wasn’t comfortable with sheet metal screws in the cab roof, so I bolted my rack to the cap. It is rock solid.

Yeah the guy who installed mine used strong rivets instead of the sheet metal screws.. I think there were 5-6 on each side so its pretty solid now.
