My 3.4 makes a weird sound at idle. Does it with the clutch engaged/disengaged. It does it sometimes and sometimes it doesnt. Kinda strange, its like a whistling/whirling sound I guess. Any idea on what it would be? Thanks!

At 0:21 and above it does it the loudest.

Didn't hear anything. Possible bad throwout bearing? Just a wild guess.

I can hear a difference at the 0:21 mark and on. You've ruled out your HVAC fan I hope. I don't recognize the sound.

Could be! but they noise would be kinda consistent wouldnt it? This does it randomly and just at idle.

Hvac fan? I dont even know what that is haha  what is it? Im guessing it has something to do with the AC but this happens with the a/c on or off.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    HVAC fan = blower motor.

Can't hear anything either. Try taking another one but in the engine bay.

Edit: oh and can it be the blower motor even though the a/c is off?

If the fan speed is off it's not the blower. Your AC pump will run sporadically regardless if the AC is on or not.

We can't hear what your talking about. You're going to have post a better vid or go to a AZ meet. Guys in your area are very knowledgeable and will help ya pin pount the noise.

sounds like a throwout bearing. does it quit when you push in the clutch? if it is a throwout bearing the sound should stop when you push the clutch petal

I was thinking that but the sound doesnt change if you push the clutch pedal in and out.

It doesnt change at all when pushing the clutch pedal.

Hmm i guess it could be! Nah im not moving the steering wheel around when it makes the noise so could that still be the problem?

Ill have to pay more attention when i drive it in the morning, could be though!
