Safe to drive with low front diff fluid?

Hey Guys,

So i changed both my CV's last night and in the process I lost some diff fluid. Not a ton but definitley more than in one of the write ups i saw. Is it okay to drive in 2WD until I can get it topped up?

my front diff's been leaking for awhile....Just wheeled it a few days ago and it hasnt exploded

as long as you top it off sometime

 

sooner is better than later...

 

Okay thanks for the help guys! I will get it topped up ASAP.. It was a fun adventure changing the CV's the first side took 2 hours and the second took 30min.. its amazing what you learn as you go along

 

Aren't you supposed to drain the diff before taking out the CV shafts?

 

I just followed the writeup from DIY in the first gen section. If you dont want to make a mess it may not be a bad idea
