    i have a 1st gen 95 4x4 3.4 5speed taco i have a 3" inch coil over lift on it with add a leaf in rear
and Im looking to buy new wheels and tires for my truck

my question is will i be able to run 15x12.5 rims with 4" BS with a 33" tire?is there any concerns i should be worried about like rubbing UCA or possilbe wheel bearing failures? (id rather not have wheel spacers)
is this even a good idea?

No you cant run a 12.5" wide rim..needs to be 10" max and 8" min if you want a 12.5" wide tire.

4" BS will cause tires to rub on frame at full articulation. 3.75-3" BS is ideal for a 12.5" wide tire

If your running a 10.5" wide tire you'll be fine with 4" BS.

If your not ready to cut the pinch weld and do some hammering on the fire wall and possibly cutting of fenders..then no it's a bad idea.

If you can stand a bit of hammer and cutting..go for it. Lots of people do it.

Keep in mind the more you push the tire out(less back spacing) the more it'll get caught on the fenders and you'll have to trim them.

okay to make this clear you can run a 12.5 rim but it needs to be a 10.5 tire and there will be rubbing and a little fabricating is needed?

    No.

You cant run a rim that is wider then your tire man. Not safely.

If you want a 12.5" wide TIRE your need either a 15x8 or 15x10 RIM. If you get between 3.75-3" back spacing it won't rub on the UCA or frame. But a 33" tire will always rub on the pinch weld in the wheel well which will require trimming and hamming. Nothing super drastic tho.

blackdawg means to say you" CANT "run a 12.5in wide wheel with a 12.5in tire.... you need a 8-10in wide wheel for that tire......

It will rub bad, but, you can run a 12.5 tire on a 12'' rim. I have ran this combo for the last 15+ years.
