Pretty sure it has something to do with the heater, but I'm not sure and don't want to go looking for the part with no idea what it's called. It is located in the center of the firewall and is leaking a steady drip drip. I'm missing a half gallon of coolant every month lol

I don't know the proper term but it's basically a valve to switch between hot and cold air. When I had my 96, I put a ball valve there since I didn't have a/c so I left it off in summer and turned it on in winter.

    On a related note:
Years ago, on my 22R, that thing never leaked until I switched from the green coolant (Prestone) to the red factory Toyota coolant. Then it leaked. I switched back to the green stuff and the leaking stopped.

Heater core valve. If you pull the lever towards heat it pills the cable and opens it allowing hot coolant into the heater core.

Yup Heater core control valve. If its leaking at the hoses try ditching the compression clamps and get some normal hose clamps

Heater control valve. Simple fix and not a uncommon problem. Just put a new one in and don't spend a ton of money on the job either
