I went ahead and bought a 01 tacoma last sat. It had the frame replaced due to the toyota recall, when replaced the guy said they did all new brake and fuels lines, and I see that they did replace all 4 shocks. The truck seems good, runs and shifts fine (4 cylinder 5 speed). One minor issue is the tires all wore on the inside, so maybe it needs a alignment, and the rack is very squishy (plan on replacing the bushings with some good polyurethane ones). The underneath is not all rusted up to bad, it has seen 2 winters since replacement but still very solid. The body is also solid to no rust issues at all.
So are there any issues with the toyota dealers replacing these frames that I should be aware of? Just looking for a piece of mind I guess because I am just not sure about taking a compete truck off of a frame and putting it on a new one. Shoulda asked this before I bought it huh? Thats ok just be honest..
    thanks

Do a search for "frame replacement". There are other threads that discuss this. If I had the option to get a new frame on my '99, I would have.

Around 10k since my frame was done and no complaints. They did a good job the truck is as solid as it was before the swap.
