wider would be the middle number...Just think that the guys running "rubber bands" on those huge wheels, are in the 30-40 series

i had 32 11.5 15's on 15x10 wheels on my 4runner, and they stuck out at least 1/4-1/2 the tire past the body.

if you want metric, you would have to move up to a 275(which is about a 33" tall tire) Probably somethign like 275-70-15

first number is width in millimeters, so a 275 tire is 10.8 in wide.

second number is aspect ratio. if the middle number is 70, that means that the sidewall is 70% as high as the tire is wide.

    so a 275/70/16 is:

    10.8 in wide
    ~7.6 inch high sidewall.

    so, 7.6 *2 + 16 = 31 inch diameter.

an easier way is to just use the tire size calculator that Bob has on the site.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc.php

Enter current tire size, tire size you want, and it will give you dimensions of each.
