    33's aftermarket eagle wheels.
I just bought a 98 with 33/12.50-R15. The one in my picture. They look good and Im going to use them during hunting season, but I wanna make it a daily driver on a 40 mile commute to work (mostly highway). I believe the truck has been lifted. I want to maybe go with stock 16" or 17" alloy wheel (maybe toyota stock) with some tires that will be quite and give me a good ride, but still look and act a little aggressive. Was told to go with tall tire to increase fuel mileage. Anyone have experiece in this department that could help me out? Here are my goals:
    1. Good ride
    2. Quite
    3. Slighty Aggressive
    4. Help Fuel Economy
    5. Wheels that will work with manual hubs

    Thanks Guys!

Just keep the rims you have now and get different tires.

And how in the hell does a taller (do you mean larger overall) tire give you better gas mileage?? The larger the tire, the more power it takes for the motor to turn the wheels, and the tires are heavier. Especially if the truck hasn't been regeared.

It sounds like you are in need of an all terrain tire. Like BFG All terrains, goodyear duratracs, etc...there are so many. Do some research on a site like tire rack on what tire you want to go with.

And if you have 33's on your truck now, its probably lifted. I would go with a 32x11.5 all terrain tire if you want better fuel economy.

The difference between a 32 and a 33 isn't going to change much mileage-wise. The truck probably came with 31x10.50's so going back to that size should get the mileage somewhere in the neighborhood of 18-20 average. And larger tires do sometimes give better mileage. On older trucks with no overdrive they can lower the RPM's on the highway enough to make a difference. My FJ40 gets better mileage with 33's on it than 31's. And it doesn't sound like it's going to explode at 70 on the highway any more either.

Stay at a 15'' rim. Lighter

    stay at a 31'' tire..lighter

    /thread

    285s will kill your mileage.

To put things in perspective..most guys with 33s get 15-18...hwy...and 10-13 city

If you want good MPGs...don't change the truck..at ALL

The truck was changed when I got it a few weeks ago. It already has 33/12.50R15 on it. Just wanna make a good decision.

Well you can't really go higher then a 33 without having to regear the diffs. really you should regear with 33s anyways. And you'll have to tub the fire way and trim the fenders.

    switch to a 33x10.5. That'll help.

I don't know if I agree with 32s and 33s not having much of a difference. I just put on 32's (previously had 31's) and I'm still geting 20.5 MPG. I don't think that would be the case with 33's...

Light bar and bumper guard, 3/16 steel skid plates for engine, tranny and transfer box, OME 881 springs with 5100 shocks at mid clip. AAL in rear. Positraction rear diff.
For best mileage go back to stock which is probably 265/70R16. That's a 31 inch tire. Check you driver side door panel and it should tell you want size came on the truck. Get a set of rims at a used tire place or junk yard. The Hankook P series is a good tire and much cheaper than an LT series like the BFG. Use a GPS to see what your speedometer error is.

If I go with a 16x8 rim. What brand, type and size tire would be a good choice? Wanting the height of the current 15" with the 33's (see my profile pic), but not the loud road noise and hopefully better MPG. The only reason I'm going with the 16x8 wheels is because they look amazing and thats the smallest diameter they make. Please help me out guys. Thanks!
