personally i would want to try a turbo diesel.

    durmax looks great!
but has independent front suspension and is weaker.

    but cummins is just beast

    x2 on the cummins

depends on what you need it for. the cummins is a bad mofo if you need to tow, etc.
otherwise, you cannot beat a 3.4L 59-04 tacoma.

What's wrong with the tacoma you got now?

How much money are we talking - to buy a diesel?

Why don't ya just get an 09 tacoma?

Whats your goal for this new truck? Seems kinda odd to be looking at 3500 HD Diesel trucks and V6 Tacoma's....

not really though-i find a lot of overlap between the toyota guys and the cummins guys-(not dodge guys, but cummins guys-there's a difference)
everyone i know at work (toyota dealership) that rides drives a tacoma or 4runner and tows there trailers/quads to the dunes with there big dodge diesel trucks.
same kind of people if you ask me. if i had to tow 10K + weight, i'd have a cummins too.

well u ask y im lookin at v6 tacomas with diesel trucks. Well here's my reason, all three vehicles are very dependable and will last for long time. Second you can make a three of them fast a sh**. My family has always been the "Chevy" family. and they want to see me in a DMAX, but I hate DMAX's suspension and they're almost impossible to find in a manual. I have to have a manual transmission (I hate automatics) So Im really leaning towards a 6speed Cummins or a 01-04 V6 5speed Tacoma. O and another thing, the reason Im getting rid of my Tacoma, is because the single cab has just gotten too small for me and I'd rather have the 5VZ or a diesel then my 3RZ.

but my buddy had a 2000 TRD Tacoma 4x4, 5 speed. He put a nice exhaust on it and a K&N intake on it, and I loved that truck but he sadly lost it due to frame rust. Remembering that truck makes me want to get another tacoma

It pretty much boils down to what you want to do with it.

If you need something to haul shit every day, get the Cummins.

If you want something small and fun, get the Tacoma.

Id go with the Duramax just to get the Allison Transmission but you said you need manual...

It really depends of what your doing more of.
I'd choose either the Taco or the Dmax
