Searched around, and all I see is the same combo repeated. Brembo rotors, and Hawk pads.

From RockAuto, I can get two new Wagner front rotors, and a set of Wagner thermoquiet pads for just at $100 shipped before discount.

From my searching, can't even touch two brembo fronts for that, not counting the pads.

I ran Wagner on my last truck without problems, some reason I don't see them recommended on this site for Tacomas?

    Thanks
    -Josh

they may be pricey but spring for the brembos. i had them on my supra while i had it and they are fantastic. and they cant be too bad if evo's come with them as factory equipment

I think you would be fine with the Wagner's. I think that people just like the idea of "go fast" brand parts on their truck. But in terms of performance, I don't think your foot will tell any difference in daily driving. Save your money for other mods!

I wouldn't bother forking over the money for Brembos. I went with Autozone Duralast pads and rotors and they have been great. The pads even have a lifetime warranty on them so they'll replace them when they're worn out.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure there wasn't some underlying toyota specific reason I kept seeing the Brembo/hawk combo.

The Brembos are good for towing heavy loads or supercharged trucks. You don't need them.

For the rotors, they are 6 lug, is that all I need to check for a 4x4 with manual hubs, or is there a specific kind for the 4x4 with manual hubs? Or, are all 6 lug rotors that same?

Just placed my order. Total for parts (2 Wagner rotors, and 2 sets of Wagner Ceramic Thermoquiets) was $65ish. Will shipping around $27. Total, out the door, was $93.xx. Couldn't even touch a set of brembo rotors before shipping for that.
    Love RockAuto.

Good job. i doubt you'd notice the difference in rotors. Calipers might have been a different story, but still probably not worth it.

Be sure to report back on the ceramics pads:

Pros: No brake dust buildup on wheels

Cons: Can be louder than metalics
