I have a 2004 Tacoma xcab 4x4 v6 code p0031 oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 I have bought a OEM replacement. I have found the sensor easy enough but the wire goes up around the Transmission and cannot see where it ends up. Is this one you have to remove the shift boot assy. to get to the plug?

Thanks. The sensor that was in the books at the parts house is not the right one for this truck because the wires are made for a frame connection. The books call for the one they gave me and we looked all over the other books and the same part number came up so I said the @*^% with it and will just splice, solder the new one in and heat shrink it good. Just be done with it. Been to town 2x today at 40 miles a piece tired of dealing with incorrect info from the books.
Thanks for the help. If I ever have to do it again it will get a factory replacement and do it right. This was a OEM replacement part.

I don't belive that your truck an 04 calls for an O2 sensor for the bank1 sensor. It should be an Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor which is a wide band sensor.
