header opinions for 2.7L

I have a 99 tacoma 2.7L and i want a header to go with the magnaflow 18 im gettingany info will be great thank you!

I just bought a pacesetter header for my truck. Both the engine and headers are laying on the ground so i couldnt tell you any sort of info on actually using them. i put doug thorley headers on for a buddy and they are nice but are way too much

Ive heard both good and bad things about both of them and i was thinking of getting a obx header but i know nothing about the headers for 4 bangers cause ive only had v8's and put hooker headers on those

i dont believe you are gonna get a ton of gain from a header. the reason i am replacing mine is because my dad broke my exhaust manifold.

Haha..ass dyno..I thought I was the only one...

Ummm...definitely more grunt on the low and mid range...def sounds better.

The main reason why I got a header is that my stock manifold cracked and I figured I would just spend the money on a header instead if dropping cash on a cast mani.

yea my exhaust manifold broke with the help of my dad throwing it across the shop.... On the dynos not many people see a gain it is all ass dyno and sound is what i have found out.

i put Doug Thorley headers on mine than opened it up more with new 2 1/4" exhaust piping and a dynomax muffler. Love the sound and when i had the smaller tires on, i could def feel the gains. my 10 ply 265/75 duratracs i have on now make it not as noticeable but still mobs harder than it did stock exhaust and headers. no complaints here except for the 2-3 hours i spent with a buddy installing them. A bit of a pain but better than overpaying the shops.

2-3 hours isnt too bad. i couldnt justify paying that much for headers when i got a set for 1/3 the price that are identical except black not chrome.

Starting back in 2004, we put Pacesetter headers on our company trucks when the factory manifolds cracked. At the time the Pacesetter was the only one available. I've had two different ones on my personal , ex company truck. Both have broken at the collector and had to be welded. Both flanges also warped at the block. Pulled this last one off, added steel to it and resurfaced it. Laying one of these side by side of another brand you can definetly see the difference in build quality. But the prices also show this.

ordered and installed in october. fit like a glove and sound good, we'll see how durable they are.

they look identical as far as the shape and how the tubes go. there is for sure a difference in quality between the two but i cant get my self to spend of twice as much.
