New guy, and a stupid question, but I need help in a hurry

So the check engine light in my '96 isn't on, it's broken, which it turns out is an automatic fail on Nevada's emissions check. Thing is, since it ain't lighting up, I don't even know where the little bugger is to try to replace it. Can anybody provide a road map?

This is what the dash looks like:

And yes, that's just shy of 240,000 on the odometer. Only major repair so far is a replaced clutch

Is the bulb burnt out? (take apart dash/gauges).
Also I see no pic (I think its just me)

CEL is next to the gas gauge, yeah?

If you take the bezel off you should be able to shine a flashlight behind it and see where it shows up.

I hope the bulb is burned out.

Tried the flashlight, couldn't see the CEL. Might have been looking in the wrong spot. Went to a dealer, they couldn't tell me either

 

It should be directly to the right of your gas gage.

 

Right at the half tank marker.

 

Like mine it directly below the E on fuel guage

Yes..That is 230,000 miles

 

It was just a bad bulb.
