I removed my throttle body to clean the build up and noticed it does not open fully. I am able to twist the spring about 1/4 turn before the blade starts moving, and by the time the spring hits the stop the blade is only 1/2 open. I've never seen this before so wondering if it is normal for these motors? 2004 3.4L 103k miles. I have no issues and the truck seems to have plenty of power.

Pic 1 spring at rested position, TB fully closed
Pic 2 spring turned 1/4 turn, TB just starting to open
Pic 3 spring fully turned hitting stop, TB 1/2 open

awesome, thanks! Whats the purpose of flat spot on the gasket? It looks like it would restrict airflow into the intake manifold. Does the flat spot go up or down? Forgot to look before I took it off.

Not really sure. Many people install the gasket from an SC parts kit, as its round. Im sure theres a reason for the flat spot though.

I put the super charger TB gasket in my non-charged truck and haven't noticed anything.

FWIW I reinstalled the gasket with the flat spot on the bottom because it looked more natural given that the top of the TB blade opens towards the intake manifold.

Was a PreRunner, now it isn't
I think that it keeps the whistle out of the intake when heavy on the throttle.
