I am looking for suggestions on where to mount an amp in a first gen regular cab tacoma.
I would like to mount it behind the drivers seat but I can't figure out how to do it without actually screwing through the back of the cab. Not really a fan of that.
My amp is currently just sitting behind the seat but it bounces around so much it shorts out (see pic). Any ideas that don't require screwing through the back of the cab?

    What I would do...

Take measurements of the space behind the seat and draw up a frame

(imagine putting a fitted custom sub box behind the seat that's made for your model) except don't close it in because the amp will overheat.

That way, you can screw the amp onto the frame, and the frame will be squeezed into place between the seat and the back wall

Good strong double-sided mirror tape it to the rear wall or floor?

Cut out a piece of wood to fit under the driver's seat, under the carpet, between the floor ridges. Put carpet back on. Screw amp onto piece of wood through carpet. If the wood is cut correctly, the amp (and wood) won't move anywhere and you won't have to screw into any sheet metal.
