Anyone black out their billet grill?

I just bought an 03 Taco that the previous owner put a billet grill in. I am wondering if anyone has painted one black and if you had any pics? I am cutting down on the amount of chrome on the truck and thought it might look good black.

I'm gonna try to get some mockups with electrical tape soon and ill post some pics.

I would say Plasti-Dip that grille and will look great.

 

I second that. Plastidippin it will be so much easier than the electrical tape

 

I wasn't going to leave it covered in electrical tape! I was just trying to see how it looked.

 

Jerry(Jlee) Painted his with rattle can bed liner.

Id use high temp heat stuff just cause i love the finish it leaves on stuff like that.

 

i tried the plastidip thing....worst idea ever!! if you ever decide that you dont want the black any more its a pain in the ass to take all that plasti dip off, especially when it breaks off in between the slots, just saying.....but it did look good while i had it on

 

I say rattle can the grill, the grill surround AND the bumper. Oh, I'm a fan of black.

 

Mine's 2nd gen but yeah, sanded the chrome up so the paint will stick and rattle canned it.

All done (except for putting in the new TRD emblem)

 

Nice looking Taco. I like the look of the black billet grille when lights are installed behind the grille.
