My driverside inner tie rod gave up the ghost about a year ago. It had bad play.

I replaced it 9 months ago.

Now it has play again. (Had a alignment done this morning)

Seriously, what the hell. This shouldn't die that fast. What might be causing it? Possibly a shitty inner tie rod that replaced the first?

What brand was it? I usually try to use oem for replacing parts but they want $135 per side for those things!!! I just ordered from low range offroad and got 2 inner tie rods. They are 555 brand made in Japan. I've heard very good things about this brand and they order directly from Japan. The best thing is they are only $30 each. I got them yesterday and will probably put them on in a week or so. By the way I'm on my originals and I have 161,000 miles on be truck. The driver side has just a little bit of play in it. Passenger side is still tight.

big tires kill itre's in less time
heavy off road use brings it even faster

I have worn out two sets of the factory itre's
and another pair from Napa (mfgr'd Japan)

so guess I average about 3 years...
but when I was wheeling alot...
sometimes they'd only last a year.

I need to change them out currently :annoyed:

been thru 3 steering racks as well :(

    SAS resolves the issue ;)
