I have an 03 Tacoma that I am probably going to get some retrofit HID projectors for soon, but my current headlights are fogged a bit (has been repared before but come back) and I think it is time for some new ones. I heard there is an issue with some aftermarket ones not being able to remove the lense by heating in an oven like you have to do for the projectors.

I just wanted to know if anyone knows a good replacement assembly for headlamps for a reasonable price. I was looking at some TYC lights off EBay or Rockauto.com, but I wanted to make sure they would work first. Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I actually just did the TYC from rock auto. They came apart just fine.

Not yet. The identical twins I have at home prevent me from working on anything for longer than like 5-10mins at a time. I have the inside reflectors painted and I have the projectors mounted. Need to paint the shrouds and mount the halo's still. I'm hoping to have them done by next week some time. I'll post the pics in the "What have you done to your tacoma- 1st gen." section when I'm done.

It only becomes difficult if they come with the permaseal and not the butyl seal... either way they will come apart just takes a little more muscle

i bought new headlights off of Amazon for my retrofit. they were listed as 2wd headlights but they worked just fine. and they were only 26 bucks each + free shipping (headlight depot) they came apart really easy.
