if you're throttle by wire you could put a knob, or whatever you want (as long as it read % of throttle) on the steering wheel, on the armrest.
if it's mechanical throttle (i can't remember if it stayed 'till the second gens or not) i'm not sure, there are people smart enough on this forum that they could figure it out.

Well there is a kit to make it where its full hand controls but its up in the 4 grand range i have a family member who has full hand controls on his truck. Where is one handle on one side Moving the leaver down makes it brake and pushing down makes it go. ^.^

Totally makes sense. Don't get your panties in a wad about it haha, just wasn't thinking about it from that point of view. I was looking at it from a performance standpoint and honestly couldn't figure it out. Not sure why that offended you

how do you keep the bike shifter from moving (shifting) when you use the gas pedal though?

Yup...

My husband installed hand throttle on our Jeep. Used a bicycle shifter/cable assembly.

The hand throttle got used more during winching ....hold the rpm's up to keep the battery happy.

Never thought about using a bike shifter I've always seen them made just with the brake lever. I'd be wary of the shift lever getting stuck

It depends on the shifter you use and how its setup. But ultimately.... it's a specialized setup involving the throttle. You NEVER want to walk away from it and/or always have your hands on it, and you will always be able to control it.

The shifter we used (el-cheapo) you could set it to 'click' in place for a constant RPM or you could set it to manual input. The manual input, you could tighten or loosen the handle for a harder/easier throw.

And ultimately..... If it gets stuck and you can't release it somehow. It was probably installed wrong to begin with.
