    Hello,

The nut that holds this intake or output valve, not sure which it is, is completely rusted so the valve just rattles around and doesn't hold the valve tight to the radiator. Toyota can't find what part it is I need. Does anyone have any input on what this nut size is? And is there a gasket that goes with it? Mine was so rusted there was virtually nothing left.

    Thanks

unfortunately your going to have to buy a new radiator. those pieces are built in to the radiator itself? atleast on my friends wifes KIA it was. not 100% on Toyota though

Can you take the plug out and measure the hole size?

    Sorry about your dysfunction.

    you need a new radiator

that is the auto tranny cooler nipple, and if it is rotted, the interior
is also rotted/rotting/going to let go soon

do not bother to fix. radiator koyo replacement will be about $210.00 or so

the tanks are pressed together and that is not intended to be a repairable assembly

Well only the nut holding the valve is rotted, nothing else. It looks like I'd just need the nut and possibly a gasket if it has one?

A little off topic but here in the Midwest the salt is some what heavy depending on the snow but when I wash the Taco I make sure I rinse the radiator from the front as all that road salt gets sucked in.

I called the rad repair shops in town and they all say the same thing, I need a new rad. What a waste. The rads honestly is in perfect shape except for this bolt. Rad repair guy said he's seen this 100 times on toyota's.

    really ? this is an 02 ?

when you get the new rad, carefully pull the old one apart
and take pictures, also take apart the tranny cooler tank connections

I am going to wager that the rest of it internally (the auto tranny cooler section) is not that much 'OK' and has a lot of wear and looks like crap

Yes you could very well be right on that. Amazon has a replacement for $80 http://www.amazon.com/Shepherd-Part...r=2002|2002&carId=001&n=15684181&s=automotive
