2001 2.7 auto reg. cab 4x4. Here is the scenario. A couple of days ago my idle started to increase to about 1500-1800. I decided to open my air box and found
that a mouse chewed up my air filter and pieces of it were packed around the MAF sensor and some was wedged between the throttle body plate.
I cleaned out everything, replaced the air filter. Now high idle is gone, but on a cold start it will stall when started untill I hold the accelerator at 1500 rpm for 30 sec. or so than it will stay running. Once it's warmed up all is fine?????

It may be re learning because the throttle plate was too far open. This memory can also be lost when disconnecting the battery. This behavior is more common on newer vehicles especially. As the throttle body slowly gets dirty and builds gunk, the ECM slowly adjusts for it, and then after a 12 volt interruption the memory is lost and the throttle plate starts at zero and then won't idle. Maybe try cleaning the throttle plate up real nice to see if it helps.
