I have an 03 double cab with buckets and I HATE them. I also have an 05 4Runner and LOVE those seats. So, I have decided the stock buckets in the Tacoma need to go. I just need to figure out what I can put in there that is budget friendly. I don't want to spend a ton of money but I can't handle the stock seats.

So, who has replaced their stock seats with something else that is more comfortable? I have seen a couple threads when searching, for racing seats and stuff, but not a lot with pictures/info for 1st gen trucks.

The bottoms arent bad, but the lumbar is a little too much for me. It feels like my lower back is being supported to the point where it is unformfortable if my shoulders are touching the seat too.

    Maybe we should trade...

My lumbar is completely gone, or maybe never existed...

I think i read somewhere that SR5 4 runner seats swap in, and that they were a bit more comfortable. i'd dig for some threads first though

    Bought from here:

    http://www.jmautoracing.com/

Got a really good deal on Cipher Auto E-9 seats and brackets... $615 shipped. They are awesome... Sooooo much better.

They have some cheaper ones too... But I can't speak for the quality.

Thanks a lot! You got pics/info of how you mounted them? I am looking at a pair of seats of a WRX at the moment.

They look real nice, almost factory from this picture. I sat in a Tacoma with with chevy trailblzer seats. Looked pretty decent and there are always plenty of Trailblazers in the boneyard. :D

Instead of dropping dough for future bolt up junk...

invest in a welder and a cut off wheel...
and then yer no longer limited to bolt on junk.

Tho' education or training wouldn't hurt...
anyone can weld, with some practice.

I bought a welder... taught myself... not too difficult
I've never met a person, whom owns a welder,
that has failed to learn how to use it ;)

well... a limitation could be your mechanical apptitude...
but that could improve with time and practice.

    besides my truck purchase...
a welder was the best investment I ever made.
