I have a '97 Tacoma, we had the clutch replaced twice in the last 3 weeks. The first time is was because the old one needed replacement (167,000 miles). The second time (3 weeks later) it was because the pedal would occasionally not come all the way back up. It would hang about 1 inch from the pedal being fully up. Now, after re-replacing the slave and master clutch cylinders, it's doing it again. It's been bled, twice. Is there some other adjustment that the mechanic has missed?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I don't have any leaks I can detect. Floor is clean, engine is clean, and fluid level hasn't changed. Anything else?

Did it do this directly after you got it back from the shop? If so I'd say it needs to be bled more.

Is your clutch pedal bracket in good shape? Mine wouldn't come all the way back up without pulling it up with my toe.The clutch return spring bushings had worn out long ago and the spring was sawing through the pedal. I tried a couple things to fix it, but eventually replaced the whole assembly from a salvege yard.

    ^^ this.

Replace your clutch pedal bushing and maybe even your return spring and this should fix the problem. Mine is doing the same thing right now and I'm fixing to do that.

I agree with all the above posts .Bushings in the pedals should always be inspected .
In addition , did they replace the pilot bushing ?
Did they machine the flywheel ?
Did they add shims to the back of the flywheel to compensate for the material removed from the flywheel ?
