Since you're thinking about an expedition rig, have you considered a bed rack that sits high enough to mount forward facing lights onto? That would save you from drilling your roof. Otherwise, check out Thule or Yakima racks for fitment that won't require drilling.

Hi, yeah finding a roof rack for the Xtra cab can be a short search, not many really sturdy options IMHO, I designed mine and had a local fab shop do the work for me. My main purpose for my rack was to car my lights and eventually my HI-Lift jack and other light duty stuff

I had something on my old Tacoma for a light bar. It was a CARR light bar. Worked pretty well. You have to drill 4 holes on both sides.

Haha glad I can help! :D

That would be the one! Now on my 96 Tacoma I had to buy a gutterless mounting kit to go with it so I could install it. Now I'm not sure if it's the same for 01-04 Tacomas, so you'll want to do some research on their website first.

The cheapest I found it was on Amazon. I think I payed $120 for both the light bar and the special mounting kit I had to order.
