Oh ya, definitely one of those issues you can debate for hours! I think having the manual transmission was one of the main reasons why I first considered the trade. Of course you can always perform a 5 speed swap into the 1st gen double cab, but easier said than done. Let us know what you decide. And you definitely are getting a decent trade value on your truck if you do so- that's near private party value!
    Good luck!

I'll trade you my DC for you truck and some cash lol. I'm just messing but if you were closer I would consider it. I would look into getting a 1st gen double cab if I were you

Oh I've been looking....I never really stopped looking after I bought the '99. It seems like a new dbl cab with zero miles for about 10-12k more than a 10 year old truck with 100+k miles makes the most sense...If I could find a low mileage 1st gen, I'd seriously consider it, unfortunately not much out there under 100k.

I think you're getting a good deal on the new truck. Still a really hard decision ... and only you can make it. But that's a solid trade in and price on the new truck. IMHO

:notsure: Guess it really comes down to how long can you hold out to find a DC 1st Gen that fits your needs in the shape you want. I'm not making this any easier, huh? :sorry:

LOL, the solution would be for Toyota to start making the 1st gens again :) problem solved :D
