I moved here for school many moons ago, most recently worked at Pie-Zan's, currently looking for something new. Do you have a Dakine bike mat on your tailgate, if so you followed us out of Ohio that weekend.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Before i cut my truck in half my frame was bent up about 1.5" from wheeling and I had a plate bumper. I say weld the plates on it's cheap and you will bend your frame if you wheel hard and are hitting your bumper on rocks.

It can happen but rarely, the front coilbuckets are more likely to bend in, becasue the front is heavier and takes more abuse. I've had my buckets pulled out and a cage made. just gotta double shear the front uca's for the piece of mind. stock 2nd gens are fairly stout.

I ended up welding the plates on, I can tell it made a difference even with the way the truck takes turns now ( less diving into the turn). I have a lot better piece of mind now that I did it. thanks for the advice

Yep, here is a recent pic from TTORA of a brand new frame from the frame replacement program.
Nothing wrong with with putting on the plates for peace of mind.
There are cases of plating/boxing just causing the point of failure to move to the next weak spot but that is with very very extreme use.
