Had a guy from Mexico offer me 12K for my taco today. He wants to take it back to Mexico to sell there. I paid 7K for it 3 months ago so the profit is a huge mind effer! I love my truck! Even though I've only had it for 3 months, I've done the brakes, new belts, oil changes, suspension lift. Most of the work was done by me except for the timing belt.

I'm a dealer, so I get these guys from Mexico comming to me all the time. But it's never been for my personal vehicle. I wouldn't be able to find another truck like mine, not even at auction.

What would you do if someone offered you $4k more than what you have invested in your taco?

Plus I can guarantee if I said I want $13k he would still buy. What to do?

How many miles does it have? You must be a dealer because of the "I wouldn't be able to find another truck like mine, not even at auction" line :p

Sell it and buy a 13, unless you have some real sentimental value in it.

I'm a first gen guy. I think the 2nd gens look awesome but for me personally, 01-04 is what I like best.

Here are the details for my truck
    2001 PreRunner
    167K, auto, 3.4L v-6, TRD SR5
    4dr, I'm 2nd owner, all records,
    Very well maintained.

It's nothing special, but it has the "well kept" appearance

01-04 that are decent shape are getting harder and harder to find.. I searched 4 months to find one that was acceptable.. Lots out there Salvaged and beat up..
Double Cab even more difficult to locate.. You basically stole that truck! 7G!!
I paid 10G 03 161k decent condition... I feel very fortunate to have her..

I would Hold Fast!!!!! Keep her!!!!!!!!

I feel the same about the 2nd Gen.... Love the 1st Gen! So many others are discovering the same, That is why they are able to sell for High prices even with HiGH Miles..
    >Gman

    KEEP HER!!!!!!

Don't let her go to Mexico! They're slowly buying them up and bringing them to Mexico. We know a guy who owns/runs a Toyota and Subaru junkyard and he's going out of business because it's impossible to outbid the Mexicans and make a profit because they can get tons more for it down there. I'd hate to see it get parted out too. Keep it! Going to be hard enough find parts for them eventually let alone so many leaving the country.

I told my wife about the deal and she says "its up to you, but I know how much you love that truck". So then I ask my daughter if I should sell the truck, she says " no dad don't sell your truck, you'll never find one like that one". She's young but wise. These trucks are harder to find, especially for $7k.

I can't sell it. I waited patiently for 3 years to find one in good shape, that was taken care of, and had a fair price tag. I finally found it and I love it so I guess I'm keeping it! Thanks for the help TW peeps! I love my taco, even if it is 2wd, it has everything I need.
