How do you do it? What will I need? Where can I get it? Can a somewhat handy person do it?

 

You can it at any auto parts store, and you just need a little cup so that its easy to suck up into your brake booster line. Its real easy! Just dont suck too fast and kill your engine.

 

wait... what kind there a bunch of different seafoams... i use the Fuel ad. Just pour the hole thing with you fill up.

 

i want something that could clean the engine. if there is any. i have done the fuel one. but what is the one for the brake booster line? what does that do?

 

The stuff in the red and white can is all you need. That does the crank case, fuel, and intake.

 

instructions are on the can, but! I've got the time. take one third of the can, pour it into a cup, remove the brake booster line or the pcv hose. they both go to the manifold and into the motor, both lines have suction, so you just suck up 1/3 of the can into either of the two lines, not so fast that the engine dies, but as fast as you can without it dieing. as soon as your done, shut off the truck, leave it for 15-20 mins, when you start the truck it's gona burn off all of the seafoam and all the gunk that was built up in the motor. it's gona smoke for about 10 minutes. thats it thats all for the brake booster/pcv hose. if you do it in the crank case, pour in 1/3 of the can in, drive 60-100miles and then change the oil and filter. for the gas tank, pour the last 1/3 of the bottle into the gas tank at fill up, run it through and your alllll done! i advise changing the fuel filter shortly after you run it through the gas tank.

Thank you. And I know this is a dumb question. What is the crank case, and where can I find the brake booster pcv hose? I know i know, i am dumb.

 

PCV is the easiest to get at with our trucks, here's a pic of the pcv valve, you disconnect the hose right at the valve and feel the suction. don't be alarmed when your truck idles weird with it disconnected.

I use Seafoam Deep Creep, which is a spray version of the stuff. That way all you do is disconnect one of the vaccum lines and spray it in there. In regards to throttle body cleaning, it's generally better to remove the whole throttle body and clean it that way. You can do a much better job, plus its not the most difficult thing to do.

 

is there a write up on the the throttle body cleaning?

 

I just did my truck because I was getting crappy MPG. Just so you know your check engine light might go off afterward. Mine did and I was like oh crap what did I just do! It was just a misfire and my MPG are back within my normal range.

the old throttle body gasket is a D shape, and it's pointless, so get one of these round ones while you clean it..

Would a throttle BODY spacer be good? Is it worth it?

I want you to listen hard n listen good, Throttle body spacers are 100% a myth, Never believe anyone who says theirs added power, because it didn't.
it will make a neat sound, but that is it!

 

i listened carefully. just the gasket is all i need. save the money for better stuff.
