Pilot bearing concern.

About a week ago I replaced my clutch. One of the things I replaced was the pilot bearing. I got the old one out allright and installed the new one. But when installing it, I put a very slight dent in the far side of the dust cover. The guy working with me has a lot of experience working on cars ( works for the city). We looked at it and it wasn't damaged enough to prevent movement. It spun freely with no friction or rubbing. So we figured it was ok. I've been driving the truck a week so far and no problems at all. But that small voice in the back of my head says I should worry about it.

My attitude is hey- the truck is old as hell and the worst that could happen is that I'd have to maybe take it apart. In the meantime, just let it go cause its probably fine anway.

Any thoughts?

Man am i in a bind, this is my third tacoma clutch job but first time removing the pilot bearing. What did you use to get that thing out? I rented a puller but it just flexes a bit and pulls back through.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

i finally got it out, had a BGO (blinding glimpse of the obveous) in the middle of the night, seriously, eyes wide open at 3:23. I wedged a small screwdriver in the jaws to keep them from flexing shut and it came out smooth as butter. Being the food salesman that i am i promptly dented the new polot bearing.....off to the parts store again.
