98 - 00 Tacoma Center Console

Hey everyone,

New to the Tacoma scene. I had recently purchased a 98 Tacoma and was wondering if this generation of Taco's ever came with a center console? I always find the need to rest my elbow on there with any vehicle I have. If couldn't find any info on it through the search but if anyone could direct me to some answers, that would be greatly appreciated. Even if you know of a aftermarket alternative that fits nicely. My interior is tan so preferably something with a tan options. Thanks in advance.

Word of advice: seek an 01-04 center console. It'll bolt right up to your truck no problem and it is superior in every way to the 98-00 design.

 

^ True. However they're not very easy to find. Took me several months to find a console, now I'm waiting to find a bucket seat so I can install it.

 

My 1998 had no console, my 2000 has one. The 2000 console is nicer than not having a console, but not by much. The square cup holders are absurd.

 

I believe the ones with no console had the bench seat with a drop down arm rest? Either way check eBay for a later year console....don't bother with a 98-00 unless you only own square cups..

haha fuck it, I just bought it. Some confirmation on fitment would still be greatly appreciated. Also, its looks kinda tan but the description says grey. Hopefully its tan haha.

 

Yes that will fit

Just make sure it comes with the bracket that bolts the console to the tranny hump

I think I still have an extra piece of the rubber (technically high density neoprene) that is ideal for the mod.
