I haven't seen them going out of their way to steal factory wheels. My last taco had them on it.

I never ran them with my last two sets of wheels from Pro Comp and Ultra. The only reason I got these now is because the current Pro Comp wheels are flat black and chrome lugs don't match so I got some Gorilla locks in black now.

Decent deterrent but easy to circumvent with a quick trip to sears.

Like anything else..... If they rlly want it they will get it. But there's nothing wrong with making them work for it. Hell they may pass ur truck and hit the next 1 cuz its easier.

Def get a pop n lock and throw a hose clamp around the passenger side hasp of ur tailgate. Just to make things a Lil tougher and time consuming for those bastards who want ur tail lights and tail gate

I didn't have locking lug nuts, and this is what happened:

I just got some countersteer's for my tacoma, so you can be sure i'll be using some locking lugs with them. They may not stop thieves that really want your wheels, but they'll slow them down. And they are not expensive, it is surely a worthy investment to add a little security.

Unless I'm missing something, my tailgate is not removable (2004 pre runner), just a bolt in each side. I clamped my F150 tailgate thanks to the tacoma tailgate antitheft thread.

I'm placing an order with Wheeler's this week and will definitely be spending $16 more for the locking lugs. Why not right? :D

Their value depends on your wheels. If someone steals my factory 16s, I will upgrade my wheels (with lug locks). :)

I don't have locking lug nuts on my 09 TRD Sport 17" wheels. If someone is determined to steal from you then they will steal. If the wheels got stolen I would just replace them with after-market wheels using the insurance payment.

Agree that they worth more if your wheels are worth more. Mine are. I wouldn't get em if I had stock wheels.

Been using them for 20 years on 2 trucks. Good for the extra piece of mind.
Never had any wheels stolen, and don't really know if the locking lugs is the reason.

Never heard of anyone who had their wheels stolen while using the locking lugs. But it is possible.

I have splined lugs, I don't know how much of a deterrent they are.

They sell them as full set for each wheel. Aside from appearance is there any reason not to just replace one lug per wheel with one spline drive lug? Buy one set for all wheels instead of 4 sets?
