    DON'T USE STOP LEAK!!!!!!

Bite the bullet and repair the issue with replacement parts but for good sake do not use Stop Leak products. I have had lengthy discussions with mechanics regarding this stuff and I have not found one who would recommend using it.

I will buy a new one that fits my truck and replace the old one. I may even bypass the tranny cooler and put a new one in.

Yes, new radiator is the obvious and RIGHT route to go. I'm just giving him another cheap option to buy him some time.. And no, I've used the stuff before in several different vehicles...and never had any problems. It works

Everyone always says that...never heard of it doing that and it's worked every time i've used the stuff...the stuff is perfect for an old vehicle that's not worth dumping money into and to buy you some time or something along those lines. But again, radiator is the correct way and OP do the radiator if you can afford it and plan on running the truck for years more

I fixed a radiator in my 86 Yota pickup with JB weld from the outside of radiator. It lasted a long time and could handle the thermal cycling/pressure. Just a suggestion if you dont' want to buy a new radiator. If you do it, sand the radiator with rough grit paper at the leak, apply JB, let it dry overnight before your first warm up engine.

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
there is only one right way to cure a leaking rad. and that is to replace it.
google the topic and there is lots of good write ups on this.
if you don't know when it was last done flush the system out real good, to really clean out the heater core before removing the old rad.
if any doubt on condition of therm. or hoses great time to hit those also. use only a oem therm not a cheap one made in china!
removing the rad. is really just 4 bolts holding it to the frame, its not too hard just a time, and step by step process.
JB weld is a temp[ fix at best, and for christ sake don't use stop leak, that stuff usually just stops in your heater core and clogs there

Us 4Runner guys replace ours with the KOYO A1998 radiator. They're relatively inexpensive, around $150.

Just get a factory 4cyl radiator. It's shorter so the bottom doesn't stick out as far. I think Pep Boys had the cheapest when I got mine. 18 3/4 inch core is what you want.
