Ultragauge says I'm only getting 74% of throttle...???.

So my Ultragauge says that when I floor it, I'm only getting 74.1% of my throttle position (TP%). I pulled out the floormat under my gas pedal hoping to bump it a few percentage points higher, but to no avail. Has anyone else heard of this? Pehaps I'm not reading my gauge correctly? Thoughts??

 

Hmm, I've never looked at this reading on my ultra gauge...

 

I remember reading some where that Toyota dose that when you gun it from a stand still to help save the drivetrain

 

But it doesn't matter if I floor it from a standstill or sneak up on it gradually- I don't get 100% of throttle at any time under any circumtances. Ever. Weird.

 

Throttle isn't measured out of 100%. It's measured out of a number chosen by the company, could be any number. You are fine haha

 

The gauge I'm reading on the Ultragauge is "Absolute Throttle Position Percentage". Therefore it's out of 100%.

 

I'm guessing it's just an issue with how the UG is interpreting the OBD data. If you're truly concerned pull apart your intake and make sure the throttle opens all the way...

 

With the car off, get someone to floor the pedal and check your throttle body to see if is open all the way.

 

Yep, when I check the throttle body with the gas pedal floored, it, too, is all the way open. So...what's up with the number?

 

Right in one.

Unless you know how to program PIDS and/or modify existing ones, you're not gonna see anything that's 100% accurate.

 

Its a reading of the TPS and it uses the voltage change based on the highest and lowest readings for the sensor. So at full open your sensor is showing 74% of the high voltage. If its fly by wire, you can recalibrate the throttle, but otherwise there is nothing you can do but make sure that number isn't changing, that would show a sensor going out.

If the TPS is reading that far below WOT could the fuel supply be lacking?

 

My Ultraguage shows 9.8% at idle and 74.8% at WOT.
This is normal, and my truck runs perfect.
