My yota is at 118k and I have yet to replace the water pump, or the timing belt. Also my radiator has a hole in it and has to be replaced with both upper and lower hoses. So for a new water pump, timing belt, and radiator with new hoses including labor and tax out the door for $1170 be a decent deal? Also, there are warranty's on all of the parts as well... let me know what you think.

This is what I have so far 102 and change for pump , 15 bucks for lower hose ,14 for upper , 42 bucks for the timing belt, 204 for the rad add another prob 20 bucks or so for gaskets and such the prices are all from the Toyotabarn now what you can find for a supplier out there might be cheaper in less shipping costs and the prices I listed are rounded. So ball park 400 bucks for parts if you watch the video and are fairly mechanically inclined you could do it your self or see if someone here near by who knows how to do it will give you a hand. A case a beer or so will buy a lot of help lol just don't let them touch it till after the work is done :}I also presumed it was an automatic??

    Thanks

If you are doing the timing belt and water pump, get the kits. Don't replace the belt without replacing the pulleys that go with it, and to be honest, it wouldn't hurt to replace the tensioner. Most shops quote these engines with the following parts:

    Water pump (with gasket)
    timing belt
    timing belt pulleys (2)
    Camshaft seals (2)
    Crankshaft seal
    Coolant

Add into that a radiator, upper and lower hose, plus labor, and you are looking at a reasonable price from the shop you had it quoted at. As mentioned, if you are somewhat mechanically inclined, you can do this work yourself on a Saturday.

Paid $640 at the dealer to replace the timing belt and water pump. Don't know if this helps at all...

Some good responses thanks guys... Yes I found out taking the radiator out is very easy and something I could do myself. I had to take work off today and had the guy look at it. I just wanted to have it done so that it was working for sure tomorrow considering this is my everyday driver. Though I would have liked to have done it myself, at this point in my mechanics career I think I may be a little too green behind the ears! But if anyone knows any good guys over in AZ on these forums who wants to teach me I'd love to learn!
