I have a 97 Taco 4x4. It already has a 3" body lift but got into a little wreck and bent the lift. Need another kit. Have one??

Maybe you should take the lift bending in a wreck as a sign that body lifts aren't the best option?

You're not gonna get much love around here for body lifts, they tend to cause a good bid of damage

Some of this Some of that
^x3 the fact that it is damaged from an accident means its not safe.. It holds the body to the frame.................... Pretty big deal imo

Post up some close shots of the front and rear suspension, then we can tell you what you've got. After you know your starting point, you can make an informed decision on your path forward.

    Here is what I have[IMG]

This is the reason I can't take off the 3" body lift because the door is almost touching the skid bars that are welded to the frame. [IMG]

Cant see any pictures. But i would cut off the sliders and take off the body lift and re-weld the sliders back on

Why are body lifts so bad?? I mean it lifts my truck higher than I could with just a suspension lift,

it doesnt lift anything but the body

    you gain no clearance

there are cases where bad accidents occur on body lifts...and the body comes off the frame

ive seen body lift pucks wear down the cab mounts...to the point where it was damn near gonna go through

some people run small 1" body lifts for better tire clearance

I see, but it does make the truck look higher. And I already baught a new 3" body lift. Is there a better way to get my truck the same height but lower body lift?

if you're just going for height, you can take your body / whatever lift you have on now and go for a 6" drop bracket

you wont gain any clearance then, but it lifts the entire truck (excluding suspension) instead of just the body

otherwise 3" is the highest you can go w/ suspension

Yeah I've seen the 6" bracket thing and it looks dorky. I think it already has a suspension lift of some kind.. Can you tell by the pictures??

It's a bad setup huh,..? Well what would you recommend I do with suspension? Because I think I'll have to keep the body lift for now,...

Well... Depending on your budget and what you plan to do with the truck there are a lot of different options. So whats your budget and plans?

Well, I figure on spending no more then $1,000 if I can on suspension. And a little off-road trails (not rock crawling) but mostly highway and a daily driver.
