Here comes a long story shortened.... I had my frame replaced a while back and when Toyota did it, they said my rear brakes needed to be replaced because they had about no life left in them. (My parking brake was not working at the time either). I then went to get new rear shoes and compared them to the existing ones that had "no life in them". They were almost identical in width all the way around so i decided not to replace. At this time, I got my parking brake adjusted to work on the passenger side. For some reason it would not adjust on the driver side even though the brakes were adjusted properly. After getting everything put back together, it seemed like the brake petal was way more gooshy than it was before. It felt like it would go to the floor much easier and not have the same amount of stopping power. I replaced the master cylinder thinking that that was the problem. It only helped slightly. Now I am wondering if i need to replace my slave cylinders? I am going to check my front brake pads tomorrow, even though Toyota didn't mention them. So....that wasn't too short, but oh well! Any help or advice would be great!

    A few questions:

    1) Did you bench bleed the master cylinder when you put it on?

    2) Have you bled the entire system?

    3) Have you pulled the drums and visually inspected their work?

Check your cylinder(s) on the rear drums. If they are leaking or have busted seals you may have air in your system or too much loss of fluid. Either way - a good once over of your brakes and a fluid bleed will likely cure your issues.

I think I am going to replace the slave cylinders soon. Will see if that solves the problem!

Sounds like a good plan. Might as well get a new set of brake springs as well since you're going to be in there.
