I just got a check engine light and it says it detected a misfire. It seems to be running good its not lumpy at all. If a cylinder goes down on this motor I should be able to tell right? I tried pulling plugs one at a time to see if it changed the idle at all but none of them affected it at all. How do I properly check to see if all cylinders are firing?

    Edit:

    -5 speed
    -extended cab
    -70k original miles

Random misfire, P0300? Or a specific cylinder? If specific, go to that cyl.

Random. It's freaking me out because the truck appears to run great. I would expect it to be a little lumpy

ok so I pulled all the plugs today to check them. they all looked beautiful (just changed 5k miles ago) except for 1. it came out of the passenger side cylinder furthest to the rear of the truck (is this number 4?).

I think im gonna try seafoam. maybe 1/3 can into the intake plenum and the rest in to the gas maybe itll clean the injectors out a little. is this a bad idea?

Yeah I did them all. It certainly shouldn't look like this so soon. What causes that is it heat? Need to figure it out
