    Howdy folks,
I had my local lube and oil shop on the corner tell me that when grease was added to the front drive shaft that it moved the transfer case, transmission and engine. The guy said he had never seen that before. Everything is bolted in. He mentioned something about water possibly having gotten in there. Has anyone seen this and if so what would be the remedial action; if any? I bought this truck to hunt, fish and do take it out on some primitive roads while doing that.

Was a PreRunner, now it isn't
maybe he's mistaking the slip yoke movement for the engine/trans/tc moving.

There is no physical way possible, even with a broken engine mount, that greasing a front driveshaft would move the engine/transmission/transfer case as a whole. I agree with hossmaster in that when the slip yoke filled with grease and built fluid tension, the shifting of the shaft sleeve made him THINK it was movement of the group.

I think that'd be the last time that shop touched my truck.

Save yourself a few bucks and do that easy maintenance yourself - with the added benefit of seeing the underside of your truck yourself every so often so you don't get suckered by bad information like what this guy gave you.

They were also replacing the fuel filter so perhaps it was petrol fumes instead of narcotics...
