question on a trd.

So today I installed an AAL in the rear of my 99 trd. Had both tires off and jack stands installed under the axle. My question is when rotating one hub, the other one turned also. Doesn't this only do that if there is a locker? Or is it limited slip also? I guess I really not sure how it works with the diff. lock switch. Can someone explain how this works. On my 84 I have a locker in the rear, and it acts the same way. Both tires off, spin one side and the other turns.

 

Since you have both tires off, that means there is no friction/resistance to stop a wheel from moving. I think an open diff will do that with no load on both tires.

I think that is right....but someone will correct me if not....lol.

 

Yeah an open diff will allow the other wheel to be spun in the opposite direction when they're in the air

 

normal for both open/ lock diff until u switch on locker then both turn same direction
